In the last few years I've stopped making large, full year goals and tried to break them down by season since that seems to be more manageable for me. But that still doesn't shake the rejuvenating feeling a new year brings where all things seem possible. It's such a lovely feeling.
I wanted to post some of my winter goals here to hold myself accountable so here we go!
Personal
// Work out at least 3 times a week {I just joined the gym at work so that should absolutely help keep me accountable}
// Use my arc planner to stay organized
// Meal plan every week
// Lose ten pounds
// Pay off my credit card {from the unyielding Christmas spending}
// Keep to the budget I created on Mint
// Write to Sammy every week while he's gone
// Try a new Pinterest recipe every weekend he's home
// Spend more free time during the week with family
// Finish at least one book every two weeks {separate from school readings}
// Manage stress and my overactive brain from driving me nuts
// Organize & declutter my space {this may be saved for early Spring but we'll see what I can do during the winter months}
// Stop comparing myself and my life to others because it's such a toxic way to live
// Find a devotional I truly love {any recommendations?!}
Work Related
// Be more diligent about seeking additional work
// Remain focused
// Speak more concisely and intelligently and less superfluously
Writing Related
// Keep up with the One Little Word Project
// Keep up with the 52 Lists Project
// Write creatively at least once a week
// Post on the blog 2-3 times a week

I'm sure some of these seem rather general and boring but that's my life right now haha. I definitely need to work on establishing set schedules and routines to make these busy and stressful weeks go as smoothly as possible.
Here's to this new year which even through its chaotic, sad, and frustrating moments is a total blessing. I'm challenging myself to learn to let go a little bit this year and see the beauty and the magic of this wonderful life.
I love your goal of comparing yourself less…with the constant influx of social media, this one is so hard

Thanks! I totally agree. It's hard to put into practice. I have to constantly stop my mind from wandering when I get into those comparison spells.
